All Prayer Quilts given to members and/or others in the community are presented with this special card that explains the inspiration for this ministry and conveys the spirit in which these quilts are made.

Recipient names are not included on any of the documented quilts since not everyone would like their names to be published. Each quilt is given a label on the back with a Name, Bible verse, Date and the phrase:

"Sewn with love to cover you in prayer, Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church"

  • The Quilting group meets every 2nd Saturday of the month at 9:30am. We meet in the modular building. No experience necessary.  Directions to the church.

This is a neat chance to join others sewing, sharing ideas and a fun time together!   No experience necessary. All in the community are invited to come join the fun!

If you would like to place a request for a prayer quilt for a member or others in the community, please e-mail caring@hmumc.org

668 Quilts have been sewn since the beginning of this ministry!

The text inside the card reads:

This prayer quilt was lovingly made for you,
Each piece was sewn with care.
The loose treads then were knotted
And each knot represents a prayer.
We hope this quilt brings comfort
And lifts your spirits, too.
May it remind you daily
Of the love God has for you.
